** November 25th UPDATE **
Chicago is entering winter. Lows at night are hitting freezing and day highs stay below 50 over the next week. Today we opened UPS Ground shipping up to a lot of zones. But we still ask you to use caution when selecting your shipping options during these shoulder seasons where temperatures can fluctuate dramatically.
When picking your shipping service there are two variables to consider; travel time and high temperature. A general guide to follow is a high temperature of no more than 65 degrees is needed for shipments traveling 3 days or more (e.g. UPS Ground to the coasts). Areas with high temperatures between 65 - 73 need to arrive in 2 days and any location with temperatures higher than 73 should be shipped with Next Day Air services.
Be aware of warm temperatures when placing your order. Review when your order is likely to arrive and choose the best shipping option for the temperature forecast to ensure your chocolates arrive in good condition. You may also contact us for advice on which shipping method provides the most security.
Please choose your shipping option wisely.
The safest way to ship your chocolates is via UPS Next Day Air services. Chocolate shipped (outside of Chicago) with these fast options arrived safely at a 99.9% rate this summer.
During cooler winter months we add more shipping options and will offer these when possible. But know, WE CANNOT be liable for melted chocolates if YOU CHOOSE slower shipping options (UPS Ground) when warm weather is expected at your destination and we offer the option for faster shipping options. If high temperatures above 65 degrees are in the forecast please pick a Next Day Air option.
All shipments to areas expected to be sunny and greater than 65° F temperatures are packed with thermal protection and cold packs. However, understand that these elements hold their condition for a maximum of about 24-36 hours. We recommend choosing the fastest delivery option (UPS Next Day Air over Next Day Air Saver) if warm temperatures are expected at the destination and keeping close attention to the tracking updates so they do not sit on the porch in sun. While we present you multiple shipping options, ultimately the final decision (and responsibility) to choose the best option is yours.
All orders ship from Chicago, IL. Depending on your location, UPS Ground may arrive one to four days after delivery. Addresses in the upper coasts (e.g. Pacific Northwest, New England, etc.) will take four days to arrive. Chicago, and surrounding areas, are typically in transit for one day.
NATIONWIDE Shipping Days. Please identify in the notes section of your order if you require delivery by a certain day. This will help us plan our shipping schedule because we try to ship orders during the coolest forecasted days of the week. For example, a Monday order may not ship until later in the week if dramatically cooler temperatures are forecasted. Our goal is to give the chocolates the best opportunity to arrive in great condition.
We typically ship orders on Monday and Wednesday.
*Note* our UPS options DO NOT offer Saturday delivery. Also, we do not profit from shipping fees. The shipping prices you see are to cover shipping and handling costs.
Chicagoland Complimentary Shipping on orders greater than $150.00.
