Spring Shipping Information
**May 27th UPDATE**
Last week was a hot one in Chicago but all our chocolate orders made it to their destinations in great shape. Thank you to those who were flexible in switching days your order went out. Next week looks to be returning back to "normal" temperatures, but we are getting to that time of year when Chocolate shipping options to most areas are only available with one-day services (this includes UPS Ground throughout Chicago). Please know that we may need to ship orders on days later in the week in an attempt to avoid the warmest temperatures. Please note in you order if you need them by a certain date.
Warmer Temperature Shipping. As we move into the warmer temperatures of late spring we must adjust our shipping options to better accommodate the delicate nature of chocolate bonbons. Confection only orders (caramels, nougat, and marshmallow) can be shipped over multiple days using less-expensive services like UPS Ground. However, chocolate bonbons need to be shipped with faster air services (e.g. UPS Next Day Air).
All shipments to areas expected to be sunny and greater than 65° F are packed with thermal protection and ice packs. However, understand that these elements hold their condition for a maximum of about 24-36 hours. We recommend choosing the fastest delivery option (UPS Next Day Air vs. Air Saver) for the warmest areas and keeping close attention to the tracking updates so they do not sit on your porch. While we present you multiple shipping options, ultimately the final decision (and responsibility) to choose the best option is yours.
NATIONWIDE Shipping Days. Please identify in the notes section of your order if you require delivery by a certain day. This will help us plan our shipping schedule because we try to ship orders out to arrive on the coolest forecasted day of the week. For example, a Monday order may not ship until Wednesday if dramatically cooler temperatures are planned for later in the week. Our goal is to give the cholates the best opportunity to arrive to you in great condition.
One-day air service shipments will ship Monday - Thursday. Shipments with slower services will ship Monday - Wednesday. Orders placed before 12:00 noon will ship that day (unless there is a dramatically cooler day available later in the week, as noted above). Orders placed after 12:00 noon will go out the next shipping day.
*Note* our UPS options DO NOT offer Saturday delivery. Also, we do not profit from shipping fees. The shipping prices you see are to cover shipping and handling costs.
We will be updating our shipping options regularly to accommodate the fluctuations of temperatures experienced in different regions throughout the United States. The most up-to-date options will appear in your cart at check-out.
Chicagoland Complimentary Shipping on orders greater than $75.00.
Kitchen PICK-UP. We offer complimentary pick-up at our kitchen (1904 Brookdale Road, #128, Naperville 60563). Choose the free pick-up option at check-out and your order will be available the following day (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) between 1:00 - 5:00 pm or upon request. Just choose PICK-UP at checkout and confirm / schedule your pick up appointment with us.
